Itinerary:

Uncover another side of Accra on this tour full of history, hope and heartbreak. Join a local Urban Adventures guide and explore the former slave forts of Accra - important landmarks that played a crucial role in the slave trade which thrived worldwide centuries ago.

Scattered all along the sundrenched coast of Ghana, it’s hard to conceive that these constructions brought oppression and enslavement to many people in a place so beautiful. Take time to explore the dungeons and artifacts of Ussher and James Forts while hearing the incredible stories and legends born from this time in history. There are many heroes and villains that played roles in the trade of human cargo, so take the time to soak up as much knowledge as possible while at the site of where it all took place. These forts are like a living history book!

Conclude the tour at the recently restored Brazil House Museum of Slavery, which is reported to be the first architectural building built by Afro-Brazilian slaves in Ghana. At the conclusion of the tour, you'll be closer to understanding the impacts of slavery on the people and culture of Ghana.
