Itinerary
Start at the Wheel of Brisbane, near the Cultural Centre. Learn about the history of Southbank and see some of its highlights including the Nepalese Pagoda, and get a feel for the hub of local art – Cultural Centre.
Wander down Queen Street Mall, the original main street of the colony. Also visit Brisbane Arcade, a beautifully built and crafted shopping mall from the 1920s. Exiting the arcade, head to King George Square and see the iconic City Hall, with its famous clock tower.
The Heritage Trail then meanders past historic colonial buildings including the Mansions, Land Administration Building, Commissariat, Treasury Building, Queens Park and finishing at Old Government House. These all played a critical role in the early days of the colony.
