Itinerary
As the sun sets, we meet at Brisbane’s version of the London Eye – the Wheel of Brisbane. Under the lights of the wheel, we board our Green Cabs, funky tricycles carrying two passengers and powered by a cyclist. We enjoy a leisurely ride over the Kurilpa Bridge as we enjoy Brisbane city by night. Learn a little about the local history as we make our way to a favourite local entertainment district – Caxton Street.
We are dropped at Suncorp Stadium, formerly Lang Park, which were burial grounds before becoming one of the most famous sporting stadiums in the country.
Although sometimes just having a reputation as a place to party, this street is a true representation of Brisbane’s multicultural heritage with a variety of locally run restaurants, bars and cafes that are known well to locals, but not always to visitors.
Our first taste stop is Mirasoul, a small locally run tapas-inspired eatery. It’s more than a bar, but has a friendly less formal ambience than most restaurants. We sample a drink and a couple of tapas specialties, learn a little about the style of food, preparation of the dish, and the evolution of this cuisine in Brisbane.
After bidding adios to Mirasoul, we wander next door to Caxton Thai, a family run establishment providing authentic Thai cuisine. Thai is surely one of the favourite foreign cuisines in Brisbane. Learn about the Brisbane Thai community, and the unique style of cuisine.
Our last stop is the Casablanca, one of the oldest establishments on the strip - famous for its diverse cultural menu and entertainment. Here we get to sample some true local cuisine, with a modern twist. With samples of kangaroo and emu on offer, we take a little tour of their original funky cellar. From here we end the tour, where all participants can stay on for the evening's entertainment. All participants receive a 15% discount card for if you want to come back to any of the restaurants for a meal. If you have any dietary allergies or requirements, please email us at least 24 hours before your departure time.
If you want to head back to CBD, our guide will be happy to help direct you, and is about a 20 minute walk downhill back to Southbank. Please note this is not a pub crawl tour.
