Itinerary:
Kick off this Chicago sightseeing tour in the best possible way – by feasting on a piping hot slice of deep-dish pizza from Giodano’s for lunch. This Chicago institution is the perfect place to get a feel for the city, so join the locals and discover what all the fuss is about.
Next, take to the streets, strolling under the gaze of some of the city’s iconic buildings, to reach the Willis (formerly the Sears) Tower, taking the journey up to its Skydeck. Admire the spectacular views from the top of the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere before experiencing the thrill of stepping onto ‘the Ledge’ – a balcony made completely of glass. Back on the streets, head into the downtown Loop, an area dotted with some of the city’s greatest architecture, and learn about how this was the birthplace of the skyscraper.Spend some time wandering around the marble halls of the country’s second-largest art museum.
After admiring Chagall and Seurat’s pieces, make time to pop into the modern wing which is brimming with works by Picasso and Miro. Head outdoors to see an art gallery of a different kind at Millennium Park’s public gallery. Admire ‘the bean’, the city’s most famous sculpture, which reflects and distorts images of the vast skyline in its metallic surface. Stroll over Michigan Avenue Bridge to get a new perspective on this architectural mecca, before boarding a water taxi or train for the ride down to Chinatown. Refresh with a mug of bubble tea and shop for knickknacks in the colourful stores before ending this unique Chicago tour with a ride back to buzzing downtown.
