Itinerary:
Our Roseau, Dominica walking tour will lead you through the history and Creole architecture of Roseau our capital, known for having the best collection of Caribbean vernacular architecture, depicted in its spectacular verandahs. Learn about the colorful story of our capital and see the old French Quarter and the more sprawling British grid, and have guided visits to those landmarks that capture reflections of our history.
Our Roseau walking tour will start at the Old Market Plaza and proceed up Church St. to the Roseau Cathedral. En route we will visit the War Memorial and the Anglican Church. From here we will proceed to King George St. via Cross St, before returning to the Roseau Bay Front. From here we will proceed to the Baracoon Building, the site at which the landed slaves were kept on arrival to Dominica. There we will visit the holding cells in which the slaves were kept. This Dominica walking tour will end at the Roseau Museum.
Tipping:
If you are happy with the services provided by your local guides and drivers a tip - though not compulsory - is appropriate. While it may not be customary to you, it is of great significance to the people who will take care of you during your travels, inspires excellent service, and is an entrenched feature of the tourism industry across many Intrepid Urban Adventures destinations.
