Join a local guide to discover the enigmatic charms of France’s capital on this enlightening Paris city tour that pairs secret local hangouts with delicious food and wine - winning combo!
Start this bohemian Paris tour on Sainte-Genevieve Hill, a popular spot with local university students that offers impressive views of the imposing Pantheon. Next, stop in at the Luxembourg Gardens and soak up the romanticism of this quiet haven that offers a welcome break from Paris’ busy streets.
Continue to the vibrant Saint-Germain area, a hotspot for writers, intellectuals, musicians, and artists. Full of eclectic cafes, cool coffee houses, pokey bookshops, and lively street markets, it’s easy to see why Ernest Hemingway, Jim Morrison, and many others fell in love with the bohemian vibe of this area. Despite rising prices and gentrification, Saint-Germain has managed to retain its irresistible, artistic charm. This area is one of the best places to see that unbeatable, unique Paris charm, and this Saint-Germain tour will show you exactly what it means to be a local in the area.
Next on our Paris walking tour, we wander along the serene embankments of the Seine River, and we’ll stop at a traditional wine store where you can sample a typical French charcuterie plate. Full of deliciously decadent cheese, salty cured meat, and rich pâtés, this is an authentic French gastronomic treat!
From here we move to the beautiful surrounding square, the oldest in Paris, to play a game of petanque or bocci balls. This fun game is still played by many of Paris' citizens and all over the country, and they even might have some tips on technique to share with us as we play. We'll also give you a glass of French wine or traditional pastis - who knows, it may help improve your technique!
After our game we go towards the energetic Saint-Michel area and take a peek into Paris’ first English bookshop, nestled in a medieval house and packed to the rafters with novels, from the classics to modern masterpieces. This place is like Mecca for bookworms, and definitely not to be missed if you're the kind of person who always has their nose in a good read!
Finally we’ll finish our Paris day tour with the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral, where you can take photos of this legendary building and really fall in love with the beautiful city of Paris (if you haven't done so already!). Could there be a better way to finish this Paris city tour rich in history, gastronomy, and art? Nope, didn't think so.

Alex was incredibly knowledgable and clearly loves her job. her communication skills were outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. We loved learning about the history and thought it was an excellent idea to start at the. Pantheon to learn its history, setting the context for the rest of the tour. We really enjoyed the game of pétanque too. We will certainly highly recommend this tour to others.

Arthur was very enthusiastic about living in Paris. He told many colorful stories about the French Revolution, and explained the historical significance of all of the places we visited. It was a great tour.

We did the two Urban Adventure walks on the same day in Paris with Maria and Tim respectively. We thoroughly enjoyed both walks and loved gaining insight to both the history of many of the iconic sites and having the opportunity to visit many "off the beaten track" areas. Excellent way to see Paris, particularly with limited time available.

We booked this tour through Expedia. The title said "
Small-Group Tour: Experience Bohemian Paris Cheese, Charcuterie, and Wine Tasting". To be honest, based on the title, I somehow thought we'd be getting a tour through different wineries so that we can sample various wines and cheese around Paris. :) So my expectations were a bit different....In any case, Arthur did an awesome job showing us around Paris. He was very knowledgeable in letting us know the history behind some of the things we saw during the tour. He was also very upbeat about Paris and telling us some of his personal experiences living there as well.

I think the tour starting at the Place de La Concorde starts too early.......I would have taken it if it started at 10:o0 A.M. It started at 9:00 A.M. Kelly was great and I really enjoyed the tour that started at the Pantheon.

Booked this tour because it was in the afternoon, and our flight was to land at 7:30 am. The flight was late, and we just made it from our hotel room via Metro to the meeting site at the Pantheon. This was the perfect low-key way to feel part of Paris after the hustle of travel. We saw things on the Left Bank that we would not have seen on our own, and found a few places that we would come back to later in our trip. We covered a lot of ground, but had enough pauses to allow our poor jet-lagged brains to take it all in.

I work for Intrepid Travel so know the Urban Adventures product very well. I had high expectations and this trip exceeded them. It was the right mixture of fun, history and culture and our giude helped facilitate opportunities to meet locals. I've been to Paris plenty of times but learnt more than I expected to. My favourite part of the tour was playing petanque with a red wine in one hand in a little square in the backstreets of Paris. A truly local experience and something to remmeber for a long time!

The 4-hour "Experience Paris" walking tour was without a doubt the highlight of my trip to Paris. Our guide Tim was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, engaging, and funny. This intimate tour of 11 people included historical sites, hidden gems, local hot-spots, and interesting tidbits which would not be covered in a typical big-name tour. For example, we saw the hotel where Jim Morrison is rumored to have died, the narrow back street where the first guillotine was located, and the bridge to which lovers attach a lock and throw the key in the River Seine, so that their love lasts forever! I have been to Paris once before and had already visited the major tourist attractions, and this tour gave me a different perspective of the city, which is exactly what I was looking for. But this tour would be perfect even for a first-time visitor who wants to avoid big crowds and long lines. Ending the tour with a game of petanque (bocce ball) was the icing on the cake. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour, and especially our wonderful guide Tim! By the end of it, you truly will feel like a local Parisian.

Kelli was an amazing guide, and we had a fantastic time on our tour. Having a small group provided for a much more intimate tour, where we got to know one another as we got to know Paris. Would highly recommend to any other traveler who is looking for something a little bit different.

We have done a few Urban Adventures (Istanbul, London, Amsterdam) and as per the previous tours the Paris Urban Adventure was fabulous. Our guide Tim as great, he knew his stuff and obviously loves his city. Tim showed us some sights we would never have seen on our own or on a city bus tour. You can see famous icons on your own but you couldn't possibly see what we saw without a local guide, walking around and exploring!

I have taken a few Urban Adventures now and this was by far the best. Tim is knowledgeable, interesting and has clearly worked hard to be able to run a fantastic tour. I could not recommend him highly enough.
PS Just with Urban Adventure in general and the booking system - Urban Adventures don't really need to be confirmed, certainly no office I spoke to wanted confirmation, could that be changed on the email sent out after purchase?
For your Urban Adventure you will be in a small group of a maximum of 12 people.
