Itinerary

JJoin an expert local guide to take a walking tour of Riga and experience its architectural style, historical sights, cultural heritage and local traditions. The tour begins with a visit to St. Peter’s Church. Climb its tower for a wonderful panoramic view of the city. From this high perch your guide will give you an overview of the city, pointing out places of interest such as Pardaugava, Riga Port, the Central Market and Mezaparks.

Back on ground level, walk to the major historical and cultural attractions in Old Riga and surrounds. Wander through the Town Hall Square to Blackhead’s house, a stunning Gothic building with a Renaissance façade. Then walk to the Museum of the Occupation of Latvia and the quirky Sun Museum. Step back in time on Skarnu Street, the Convents yard and Jana yard. Stroll around the Monument of Freedom, where Latvians gather to remember those killed in the War of Independence.

There is also plenty of time to see the Latvia National Opera, Livu square, Cats’ house, The Dome Square and its surroundings including Riga Cathedral and Parliament House.

The tour ends in Art Nouveau district, a stunning area with excellent examples of Art Nouveau architecture. Your guide can help you to arrange dinner at the end of the tour in one of the charming restaurants in the district.
