Itinerary:

Explore the waterways, wetlands, and coves located right in the heart of the city on a paddling adventure in and around Lake Union. Begin this Seattle day tour downtown, where you will meet your local guide. From here you’ll launch and paddle north through Lake Union, passing Portage Bay and the Montlake Cut.

Enjoy time exploring the west side of Lake Washington and the Washington Park Arboretum. The Arboretum is an extraordinary urban paddling destination, with narrow waterways that wind through wetlands teeming with wildlife. Your naturalist guide will interpret the surrounding flora and fauna, and share local natural history. There will be plenty of opportunities for spotting the birdlife here in this beautiful park.

During your time on the water be sure to soak up the magnificent views of downtown Seattle. From the middle of the lake you will have an opportunity to view the iconic Space Needle from a unique perspective. The shores of the lake are populated with moored ships and floating houses. Keep a look out for the house used in the film ‘Sleepless in Seattle’ as it can be found floating on the shores of Lake Union. Seaplanes will also be seen taking off and landing here. This truly is an idyllic part of the world.

This is an easy kayaking adventure and can comfortably be enjoyed by beginners and the more experienced kayakers alike.
