Explore Sydney's north shore and experience the city's native bushland on this amazing bushwalk around the northern side of Sydney Harbour.  See unique views of the city skyline, learn about the aboriginal and european history of the area and maybe spot some wildlife along the way.  Finish your walk at the hidden gem that is Balmoral Beach before taking the public bus back to the city.

Itinerary

You'll start the day by meeting your local guide in the Sydney Urban Adventures office.  We'll then head down to Circular Quay where we'll jump onboard a ferry and travel across the Harbour to Taronga Zoo wharf.  Sydney Ferries are the life-blood of this magnificent city and you'll see why they are such a wonderful way to get around.

A relaxed and stunning eight kilometre guided walk along the shoreline begins here through native Sydney bushland ... and well away from the usual tourist tracks.

Enjoy the magnificent harbour views and see where and how the north shore locals live.  You'll see amongst other sights beautiful Chowder Bay, the Georges Heights Cannons which defended Sydney during wartime, and Bradleys Head memorial site.  You will hear stories about both the aboriginal and european inhabitants of this area from times past; and you may even get the chance to spot some native wildlife such as parrots, lizards or possoms.  Along the way you will enjoy a relaxed morning tea while your guide shares stories of the people and places that helped to create this amazing harbour city.

Continue your walk to one of Sydney's favourite hidden gems, Balmoral Beach, where you will have some free time to soak up the atmosphere of this idyllic harbour-side retreat before returning to the city by public bus.
