    • I ended up having Karen as my private guide.. lucky me! She's fabulous! Really friendly and knowledgeable.

      Mrs. Sandra R., USA - 05 Oct 2013

    • I have already told everyone we talked to that this is a must for their next trip to NYC. David was fantastic. Our only regret was that we didn't do the tour earlier during our visit so we could go back and explore more in the Lower East side. David was a fantastic guide and having a small group made it so personable.

      Mr. Joan P., Canada - 07 Oct 2013

    • Thanks to Dave we had a wonderful time. He provided an insight to several neighborhoods we wouldn't even have been to without him. As a travel agent from Germany I will highly recommend this tour to my customers - and that's a promise!

      Mrs. Silke H., Germany - 30 Sep 2013

  • Get in touch with the tasty culture of NYC on this New York food tour that is a pleasure for both the body and the mind! This New York City tour will start off at a location where many new citizens are made official, City Hall. Here at the northern edge of the colonial city we’ll start our journey with a delicious Dutch breakfast treat, just one of many foods that has made its way over thanks to the immigrant population in NYC.

From on this historical tour of New York, we’ll make our way in a loop around the NYC LES, visiting 100-year old bakeries, churches, markets, and historic sites.  We’ll stroll the streets of Little Italy just as Lucky Luciano might have a century ago. Marvel at former and still operating synagogues and Jewish clothing stores. We’ll dive into latin culture at the Essex St. Market and take in cultural sites like the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, and the African Burial Ground.  Finally we’ll end up in the crowded and teaming streets of Chinatown, where you’ll feel like you're in Shanghai!

Along the way on our New York food tour, we’ll sink our teeth into amazing stories and amazing food.  Knishes, tacos, dumplings, and more.  We’ll taste why New York City is the center of the world and the culinary legacy left here by those that have passed by Lady Liberty on their way to the American Dream.

These tours are personal, intelligent and show me things, sights, people and places I would never have seen or experienced otherwise. As a seasoned traveller, discovering Urban Adventures has been a delight.

  • Ms. Sandra M. from USA travelled on 06 Aug 2014

We really enjoyed having Natalie as our tour guide. Her knowledge of the immigrant history was very interesting and thorough. She matched the pace of the tour to our needs and was very receptive to questions. We very much appreciate that Urban Adventures strives to include local food, families and vendors in its tours.

  • Ms. Ruth F. from United Kingdom travelled on 04 Aug 2014

Fab tour and is highly recommended. I learnt so much and appreciated the guide's knowledge despite sore feet and full tummy by the time we finished!

  • Mr. Mark V. from Netherlands travelled on 10 May 2014

Nathalie is an excellent guide, she knows so much about the history of New York and is able to tell it in a very enthusiastic way. In your mind you can almost see it like a movie. She takes her time, no rush and is very sympathetic. Even if you know NYC, this tour is very interesting and learns you a lot about history and why it is the way it is nowadays. Thank you Nathalie! Regards, Mark, Ageeth, Thijs and Dirk

  • Ms. Melonie S. from United Kingdom travelled on 21 Apr 2014

Our guide David was patient and very informative. He really knew what he was talking about. I loved experiencing the different foods; I never would have visited these places if it hadn't been part of the tour.

  • Ms. Nicola F. from United Kingdom travelled on 05 Apr 2014

Nathalie was an excellent guide, really enthusiastic and very knowledgable. This tour is a great way to see a different side to New York.

  • Ms. Gerrie H. from USA travelled on 12 Nov 2013

As New Yorkers, we were thrilled with our guide David's knowledge of some nooks and crannies we would not have explored on our own. The tastes were quite a find and we plan to find them again soon. We'll keep our eyes peeled for other interesting Urban Adventures.

I can't imagine anyone being more knowledgeable, informed, engaging and personable than Jared, particularly about the neighborhood he knows personally from his own family history. Our Urban Adventure tour exceeded whatever expectations we might have had and we enjoyed the experience very much.
