Take a walk through Cubbon Park

This park is what gave Bangalore its nickname of “The Garden City.” The main attractions are the Queen Victoria statue, installed in one corner of the park near Mahatma Gandhi circle; the King Edward VII statue at the northwestern corner of the park; and the statue of Major General Sir. Mark Cubbon near the terrace garden. The park area is wonderful for an early-morning stroll.

Be wowed at ISKCON temple

Located on the Hare Krishna Hill to the north of Bangalore, ISKCON is city’s most incredible temple. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Radha, and marks the ultimate expression of faith. Once you enter the sprawling complex, you’ll need to climb the stairs to reach the temple at the top of the hill. The golden deities, the marble flooring, the colourful artwork, and the constant chanting of “Hare Krishna” make it an incredible experience.

Go back in time at the Government Museum

The museum is located at the Kasturba Gandhi street and the construction dates back to the late 1800s. The incredible collection of ancient coins and artwork will inspire you. The museum also boasts 5,000-year-old relics of the Indus Valley civilisation.

Stroll through the botanical gardens

This beautiful garden was built in the 17th century by Hyder Ali, the king of Mysore, and then further expanded by his son Tipu Sultan. Lal Bagh has more than 1,000 species of colourful flora and a marvelous glass house modeled on London’s Crystal Palace. The garden is also home to many trees that are more than 100 years old, with some rare species of plants brought in from Persia, Afghanistan, and France. With all the flowerbeds, lush lawns, lotus pools, and fountains, Lal Bagh is one of Bangalore’s prettiest gardens to take a stroll in!

Devour the rich flavors of South Indian cuisine!

Of course, you’ll want to dig into some authentic South Indian dishes! The food in this region is absolutely amazing and surprisingly light. Udupi sambar (vegetable stew), masala dosa (fermented crepe), rava idli (a breakfast dish), rava dosai (a semolina and rice flour crepe), curd rice, lemon rice, and neer dosa (rice batter crepe) are just a few of our favourites.
