Trip Code:HUF Group size:Minimum 1, Maximum 12 Price:USD 60.00 Style:History & Heritage, Local Life & CultureStep into the world of the Mughals and explore their forts, markets and places of worship. Travelling by public and private transport there’s plenty of opportunity to mingle with locals and learn about Delhi’s history as you explore. See the Jama Masjid, explore the Red Fort, visit Humayun’s tomb and munch on Mughal specialities.
Itinerary
Explore Delhi’s best Mughal sites in the company of an English speaking guide. Take the Metro Rail from Karol Bagh to Old Delhi. Mix with Delhi’s commuters on the 30 minute journey to Chandni Chowk. Walk to Delhi’s most famous mosque, Jama Masjid. The Jama Masjid was commissioned by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, who also built the Taj Mahal. It was completed in 1656 AD. The courtyard of the mosque can hold up to 25,000 worshippers.
Explore the busy markets in the area before continuing on to the Red Fort. The fort was declared as UNESCO World Heritage Site in Year 2007. It was once the residence of the royal family and affectionately called Qila-i-Mubarak, the blessed fort. The fort’s design represents the zenith of Mughal creativity which prevailed during the reign of Emperor Shah Jahan.
After visiting the Red Fort, enjoy a typical Indian lunch at a restaurant and try some sumptous Mughlai dishes.
Continue on to the southern New Delhi and visit visiting Humayun's tomb and Qutab Minar. Humayun's Tomb set a benchmark for Mughal mausoleums in India. It was built for the Mughal Emperor Humayun's tomb and commissioned by Humayun's wife Hamida Banu Begum in 1562 CE. Its design was based on Persian architecture and it was the first structure in Delhi to use red sandstone.
The trip comes to an end at Connaught place. Nearby street markets at Janpath are a shopper’s paradise with handicrafts, souvenirs, traditional clothes, wood work, glass work, bangles all available.

Dress Standard
Dress standards are conservative throughout Asia, especially outside major cities. To respect this and for your own comfort, we strongly recommend modest clothing. This means clothing that covers your shoulders and knees. Loose, lightweight, long clothing is both respectful and cool in the predominantly hot Asian climate.
Tipping
If you are happy with the services provided by your local guides and drivers a tip - though not compulsory - is appropriate. While it may not be customary to you, it is of great significance to the people who will take care of you during your travels, inspires excellent service, and is an entrenched feature of the tourism industry across many Intrepid Urban Adventures destinations. Please consider this when budgeting for your extra expenses on this trip
Children policy
Children must be 6 years of age to 11 years inclusively.
