Itinerary
This is a trip for early birds. Join a local guide at 7.30am. Whilst many are still sleeping we will see the massive working bee that prepares India for the day ahead. We will watch Delhi awaken in an experience of colours, sights sounds and smells.
From the Metro station we walk to the local markets where we can stop chat to the vendors. Here is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a cup of chai to wake up and for those who are hungry there are plenty of snacks on offer.
Following the market continue on to visit the Hanuman Temple where our local guide will teach us about the morning puja (prayers) and the temple's history. We will also learn more about Lord Hanuman, who is one of the important characters in the Indian epic, the Ramayana. He is a monkey god and the provider of courage, hope, knowledge, intellect and devotion. The small but elegant temple was constructed in 1724 and has become very popular with devotees of Lord Hanuman. A highlight at the temple is the 24 hour chanting of the mantra of 'Sri Ram, Jai Ram, Jai Jai Ram', a continuous chant that has been sounding out 24 hours a day from the temple since August 1st, 1964.
Following the temple visit there is time for a delicious Indian breakfast. Our guide will take us to one of the area's best restaurants for authentic Indian breakfast.
At the end of the trip you are free for personal exploration or alternatively your local guide can assist with arranging a taxi back to your hotel.
