  • Halong Bay is one of the most loved spots in Vietnam for a reason - it's gorgeous. On this Halong Bay tour, we take you away from the hectic pace of life in Hanoi and introduce you to the tranquil, beautiful Halong Bay..

Our Halong Bay tour begins with a 3.5 hour drive, but en route we will stop off at the Hong Ngoc Humanity Centre, a handicraft outlet developed to provide support to communities in the area including people with disabilities.

On arrival in Halong City, we board our private boat for a cruise in Halong Bay, famous for its spectacular limestone karsts jutting out of the peaceful green waters of the bay. The views are spectacular as we cruise amongst the nearly 2000 islands that fill the bay.

You will see first hand why Halong Bay has been listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage site since 1994 and announced as one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature in 2011. Halong Bay means "Bay of the Descending Dragon" and legend has it that in ancient times, when the Vietnamese were fighting off foreign invaders, the gods sent a family of dragons to assist in the fight. During the battle, the dragons spat out jewels that would later become the islands that now are scattered around the bay.

After a welcome drink, we'll enjoy a seafood lunch on board while we cruise among the breathtaking scenery...what a way to spend the day! Soak up the majestic atmosphere from the top deck and enjoy the stunning views or relax below in comfortable surroundings. We'll also explore some of the grottos or caves that have formed in many of the islands that fill Halong Bay.

We return to Hanoi by road in the late in the afternoon, where you have a chance to reflect on this memorable day.

    Additional information

Inclusions: Local English speaking guide, transportation, entrance fees as indicated, lunch.

Exclusions: Items of a personal nature, tips / gratuities for driver or guide.

Dress standard: Dress standards are conservative throughout Asia, especially outside major cities. To respect this and for your own comfort, we strongly recommend modest clothing. This means clothing that covers your shoulders and knees. Loose, lightweight, long clothing is both respectful and cool in the predominantly hot Asian climate.

Confirmation of booking: If you have your voucher, your booking is confirmed. We'll see you at your hotel for pick up. Please check your hotel details are correct on the voucher. If your details are not correct, it is very important to please email us to confirm your correct pick up hotel using the contact details on the voucher. If you prefer you may also phone the change through to us during business hours.

Closure of Site: Please note that swimming is not permitted in line with new regulations introduced by the local authority concerning the section of Halong Bay we visit.   The Local authority of Halong Bay decided to remove the Van Gia fishing farm (next to Thien Cung Cave) to be outside in 2014 and therefore we can no longer visit this village. We apologise for any inconvenience.

We had a great day out on Halong Bay. The guide was knowledgable, personable and had spent a lot of time there.

  • Mr. Donald M. from Malaysia travelled on 04 Dec 2013

Halong Bay itself was excellent and I appreciated that the whole boat was reserved for only our small group of 9 persons. I was also appreciative of the fact that you catered for my allergy to seafood & fish by providing very tasty chicken, pork and meat alternatives. The only thin g was the very long drive there and back – 4 hours each way. I noticed that other coaches were travelling faster – perhaps because your coach springs were not so good? My back was sore at the end of the day by all the jolting going over the unavoidable bumps on the road.

  • Ms. Julie M. from Canada travelled on 10 Nov 2013

Awesome trip. Exceeded our expectations and the food was delicious!

  • Mr. ROXANNE M. from Australia travelled on 01 Nov 2013

We had a great guide and a fantastic day only 5 on the tour so plenty of attention. Great seafood lunch. We visited the caves and toured around with the boat and viewed the fish farms and mountains. I was very disappointed because the water is not blue and never is! The traffic to Halong bay took forever a new freeway going in so check how that is going before u book your tour!!

Our tour guide Quan was well informed with many facts about hanoi itself and Halong Bay. I learnt a lot of new information and really enjoyed my experience at Halong Bay! They were even kind enough to drive us to our hotel in Halong Bay which really impressed us, thank you!

  • Ms. Netchanoke P. from Thailand travelled on 04 Oct 2012

Overall, the tour was great, but a little bit exausting on the bus for return way from HAN to HALONG. If poss, seats should be more comfy, then customers would be more happy even with the long duration in transfers.

  • Ms. Rebecca D. from Australia travelled on 19 Jul 2012

Excellent service - was amazed that the tour operated even though I was the only client that day, had the boat all to myself - wonderful!
