Kathmandu Hike

Kathmandu Path to a Hidden Monastery

 

Take the local transport to the site of sleeping Vishnu- Buddanilkantha. After visiting the holy site, make your way to the Shivapuri National Park. Hike through the pleasant woodlands to the hill, atop which is located the Nangi Gompa (Buddhist monastery). Round off the hike at Sundarijal and back on the local transport to the city.

Set the day off the blocks with a ride on a local transport from Lakeside to the city outskirts and hit the gradually inclining trail that meanders through laid-back settlements and verdant farmlands to Naudanda and then to Sarangkot before making a descent to the Lakeside. The hike offers wonderful impressions of Nepal pastoral life and the prospect of great mountain views.

Lake Lanotoo was recently designated as a National Park. It is the most famous of Upolu’s volcanic craters. It is also remote and require a good hike before reaching its cool green water. You will explore high altitude rainforests, learn of its traditional uses, of the devastating cyclone impacts and have a chance to encounter the rare endemic birds living in this rainforest, the Manumea and the Maomao, and many other colourful native birds.

This San Francisco trek provides stunning views of San Francisco, unique vistas of the Golden Gate Bridge, and a chance to mix with locals at work and play. Walk out onto the Golden Gate Bridge, then hike along spectacular, rugged Pacific coastline. Hike along cliffs for bird’s eye views, walk along the beach where you can mix with locals, stroll through San Francisco’s most exclusive neighbourhood, explore the remains of Sutro Baths, and finish with a hot or cold beverage at the famous Cliff House restaurant. Throughout the walk, your San Francisco leader will provide insight into the areas history, folklore and abundance of natural life.
