Itinerary:

Let Lima Urban Adventures take you on an adventurous two-wheeled journey through the ages on this Lima cycling tour through the city's artistic and ancient heart.

 

Start the day by joining a friendly guide at the archaeological site of Huaca Pucllana. While we won’t go in the site, you’ll learn about the pre-Inca pyramids that once served as an important administrative and ceremonial centre centuries ago.  Evidence points to religious ceremonies, rites and rituals being performed here by priests many years ago, to appease and honor local deities that were once worshipped here.

 

Afterwards, travel to the Morro Solar, one of the hills surrounding the city and take in excellent views of shimmering Lima Bay. After a brief safety briefing, hop on your bike and cruise downhill stopping at war memorials and other historical points of interest to gain insight into Lima’s fascinating history. Stop in and have a rest at charming Chorillos, a quaint seaside neighborhood favored by fisherman. Continue by riding into bohemian Barranco, a lively and vibrant district full of artists, musicians and writers.

 

Take time to admire street art and murals before riding along the coast towards the Miraflores district. Be inspired by the stunning views of the glittering Pacific Ocean before arriving at ‘Love Park’, the final stop of this cycling adventure. This urban park is reminiscent of Gaudi’s work and is dedicated to love and lovers, so soak up the dreamy atmosphere, admire the romance-inspired statues and sculptures and reflect on the beauty of Lima before bidding farewell to your local leader.

This was a good bike tour covering alot of the areas I was interested in seeing in Lima, Peru. Urban was ontime and ran the tour even though I was the only person signed up for the tour that day. Not everyone will do that.

We were late and were the only two people in the group, and yet, the guides patiently waited for us. The tour guide Georgio was very knowledgeable about the City of Lima and its culture. He offer a great variety of insights on the background of all the place we've biked through. We especially enjoyed the small talk at Barranco. The bike ride was comfortable in general. One small drawback was that Huaca Pucllana was in construction when we visited (not exactly their fault), so we didn't get to set our feet on it. Overall, we recommend this tour to anyone visiting the coastal area of Lima and would like to explore the place and it's cool spots.
