Itinerary:
After meeting your guide in central London (Under the Big Clock at London Waterloo Rail Station) we take a short train to riverside Richmond. We jump onboard our classic English bicycles complete with bells and baskets.
Cruising along our gentle traffic-free riverside route (12km), we visit Richmond Palace (Elizabeth I's favourite) before pausing at the stunning Petersham Nurseries for morning refreshments. We continue our ride by cruising past the Palladian mansion of Marble Hill House, keeping our eyes peeled for celebrities in “Hollywood-on-Thames”, and hearing the tales of England's most haunted building at Ham House. We even enjoy a little bit of Monty Python en-route, and hear about the eclectic past of Eel Pie Island before stopping for a traditional pub lunch (at own expense) alongside the idyllic river Thames.
We pedal on and arrive to a royal riverside view of Hampton Court Palace before spending the afternoon inside the palace & grounds where you can explore over 1000 rooms, the roaring Medieval kitchens, exquisite landscaped gardens and don't forget to get lost in the world's most famous maze! A complimentary audioguide is available for the palace tour. After your visit to Hampton Court Palace, you’ll return to central London by train at your leisure in the late afternoon. A truly historic day out guaranteed!
