Wander along fascinating back street, past eccentric shops and down London's narrowest alleyway to arrive at some of the city's most iconic sights. And when your feet get tired it's time to jump on a London bus and experience the café culture of vibrant Soho first-hand.

Itinerary

Starting in the heart of London at Trafalgar Square, hear the history of Nelson’s Column and the controversial 4th Plinth. Don’t feed the pigeons as it is illegal now!

Squeeze past the English National Opera using a street only 15 inches wide! Visit the Actor’s Church burial place of the Great Plague’s first victim, and where Charlie Chaplin & Noel Coward are remembered. Stroll the Covent Garden piazza and maybe enjoy a cappuccino from the terrace at the Royal Opera House.

Admire the Bridge of Aspiration before exploring the alleyways of Covent Garden, and discover the bohemian Neal’s Yard. Visit an umbrella shop that is over 175 yrs old, and laugh out loud at the world’s only Cartoon Museum.

Eear the history of the Rosetta stone & Parthenon Marbles.

Jump on a bus, passing through Denmark St where both Jimi Hendrix & the Beatles recorded, and past the doorway of the eccentric Foyle’s book shop (formerly the largest bookshop in the world with 50km of shelf space!)

Stroll through the café culture of Old Compton Street in Soho, and hear the history of one of London’s most liberal & salacious districts.

Your trip

For your Urban Adventure you will be in a small group of a maximum of 12 people.

- During our time in the British Museum you will be guided to see the Great Court, Rosetta Stone and Parthenon Marbles. We only have a limited time here, so it is advisable to allocate more time during your stay in London to revisit the museum to enjoy the complete collection

- In the event of adverse weather conditions the guide has the right to alter the scheduled route of the trip accordingly. In this event no refunds will be given.

- On this trip we cover at least 5km on foot, so it is important that you have suitable footwear and can cover this distance unaided.

Dress Standard

A good pair of comfortable walking shoes is advisable. Obviously being London, wet weather gear is also useful!

Tipping

If you are happy with the services provided by your local guides and drivers a tip - though not compulsory - is appropriate. While it may not be customary to you, it is of great significance to the people who will take care of you during your travels, inspires excellent service, and is an entrenched feature of the tourism industry across many Intrepid Urban Adventures destinations. Please consider this when budgeting for your extra expenses on this trip.

Children policy

Younger children may find these tours too tiring.  We think they are suitable for children over the age of 11, but if in doubt, please contact us
