Itinerary
We find our bearings in the heart of the West End before heading off on foot across Regent Street. We quickly leave the bright lights & gaze of Eros as we enter salubrious Mayfair.
We wander exclusive Jermyn street full of famous gentlemen’s tailoring boutiques & see where the Queen buys her cheese… passing nightclubs for the very rich & very famous along the way.
Diving through stunning Victorian shopping arcades, we emerge by Hatchards (the oldest book shop in London) and enter the legendary Fortnum & Mason food emporium. Holding Royal warrants for over 150 years, the staff still wear tailcoats, and deliveries are made by horse & carriage!
We can see the Royal Academy (home of the famous Summer Exhibition), before returning to peaceful Jermyn street, where we walk a short distance to the famous Ritz Hotel. See Lady Diana’s favourite restaurant, before jumping in a black cab to Buckingham Palace.
We might be lucky enough to encounter the famous Changing of the Guards, before strolling through beautiful St James park full of wildlife and great views of the London Eye & Palaces. Heading through Horse Guards Parade, we pass the Cenotaph & Downing Street. Cutting through Whitehall, we get a glimpse of the famous frontdoor at No.10, and we also see where Churchill planned his war strategy with his Cabinet.
Walking to Westminster Abbey, we escape into the quiet squares & ancient back streets of Westminster before emerging to the Houses of Parliament. We finish at the Jewel Tower, where you have the opportunity to buy tickets for Parliament, Westminster Abbey, or simply have a coffee and savour the end of a perfect morning in London.
