This urban trek provides stunning views of San Francisco, unique vistas of the Golden Gate Bridge, and a chance to mix with locals at work and play.

Walk out onto the Golden Gate Bridge, then hike along spectacular, rugged Pacific coastline.  Hike along cliffs for bird’s eye views, walk along the beach where you can mix with locals, stroll through San Francisco’s most exclusive neighborhood, explore the remains of Sutro Baths, and finish with a hot or cold beverage at the famous Cliff House restaurant.

Throughout the walk, your leader will provide insight into the areas history, folklore and abundance of natural life.

Itinerary

Walk out onto the Golden Gate Bridge where you will have fantastic views of the city skyline as your leader shares history and lore of perhaps the most photographed bridge in the world.  The hike will take you away from the bridge along the Pacific Coast while pelicans soar overhead and barges and sailboats glide into the bay.  During your hike, the bridge will often come back into view for a variety perspectives and great photo opportunities.

Along this rugged coastline you can enjoy exhilarating cliff top views of the crashing surf from overlooks like Land’s End and Eagle’s Point.  Walk along Baker Beach to put your toes in the surf, mix with locals taking a break from city life or chat with fishermen casting lines.

Climb the steps into San Francisco’s most exclusive neighborhood where you will stroll among mansions, manicured gardens and fine architecture.

Drop down to the Pacific’s edge to explore the ruins of Sutro Baths. Dating back to 1896, the baths are the remains of wealthy entrepreneur and former San Francisco mayor Adolph Sutro’s creation and at one time the world's largest indoor swimming pool establishment.

Watch the sun sink down on the Pacific with a celebratory beverage at the Cliff House Restaurant.
