This Total Amsterdam tour combines lunch with a local, our popular city shopping experience, Made in Amsterdam, plus a very special boat cruise that will help you see the city from a totally different angle.
After you meeting your local guide, you’ll head to one of our favourite cafes for lunch and taste why the traditional Dutch pancake is such a special treat. As you indulge your pancake fantasies, you’ll have the opportunity to ask your guide about daily life in the capital and pick up some tips on what else to see and do during your stay.
After your lunch, we’ll take a short walk through the Netherlands’ largest shopping street, using the back alleys and short cuts the locals use, towards the Wallen district where the shopping portion of our tour will commence.
Each shop on the tour has a variety of cool, locally-made products available with a wide range of pricing too. There is absolutely no pressure to buy, this is just a great opportunity to learn more about the city via the creative and inspirational people that are driving the local shopping scene. We have carefully chosen these stores because of their responsible business approach; from environmental sustainability to reintegrated employment schemes, these shops offer you truly unique souvenirs to take home that boast serious sustainability credentials.
After all that shopping, we’ll sort you out with an authentic local sweet treat, which is similar to ice cream to give you a much-needed energy boost!
The guided portion of your tour ends at the world-famous Anne Frank House and from here, you will be responsible for catching the boat for your cruise, which can be taken at your own leisure, so if you fancy doing something else first, that’s totally up to you. You’ll be given a prepaid ticket for your canal cruise, so you can do it at your leisure, convenient huh?!
Your mode of transport is not your average tour boat, it’s a small and funky affair run by a Dutch Youth Yachting Club. They love to tell interesting stories about the city as you cruise the canals and, best of all, they provide an open bar of beer, wine and soft drinks to assist your good time! Groups are small too (less than 35 passengers), so you’re guaranteed a personal and intimate experience.
