Culture shock rating
Worried we’re going to shock your senses? Relax! We believe part of the fun of travel is immersing yourself in the destination and its culture, meeting the people, and learning what makes the place tick. We’ve got a wide range of tours with something for everybody. The cultural shock rating ranks how different the experience is from most Western cultures. But no matter the level, don’t worry, you’ll have a local, in-the-know guide with you every step of the way.
Low
Consider these tours your 101 intro to a place. Transportation might be private or a very comfortable public option, and the activities are usually visits to iconic sites and locations that are familiar to most Western cultures – but that will still give you fantastic insight into a destination.
Medium
Expect to rough it for parts of this tour, whether that’s on a packed public bus or in a local market off the tourist trail. There might be a few language barriers or unfamiliar cultural customs, and you’ll get an experience different from what you're used to at home.
High
You're out there in the global community! We’re going to take you down streets you’d rarely explore on your own, introduce you to local customs and languages, and take you for a ride in whatever transport is available. Get ready to take it as it comes, whatever comes. There might be a shock, but oh man, it’s worth it.
Physical rating
Worried our tours are too tough? Relax! From leisurely strolls to muscle-burning treks, we’ve got a wide range of tours with something for everybody. The physical grading gives you an idea of how much huffing and puffing you can expect on the tour.
Low
Slow and steady is all you need here. These tours have very limited physical activity, such as walking relatively flat streets, sites, or markets, and climbing in and out of the transport provided.
Medium
Not too hard, not too soft, these tours are just right! You can expect a bit of physical activity, but nothing overly challenging – perhaps walking up and down hills, riding a bike for up to 30 kilometers along mostly flat terrain, or jumping in a kayak for a gentle paddle on flat water.
High
Get ready for a workout! These tours are our most challenging and involve intense walking, hiking, kayaking, swimming, or bike riding. You could be making steep climbs by foot or pedal, or working your core in the water. We recommend you have a good level of fitness to join this tour.

Your journey begins in Bayfront Park. Situated along the waterfront, next to the high-rises of Downtown Miami, this beautiful green space has been a popular event and recreation space since the 1920s.
We’ll then hit the water in a water taxi to enjoy stunning views of some of the barrier islands and the sights around Miami in Biscayne Bay - such as Monument Island, Star Island (home to the stars!), the dazzling city skyline and the bustling Cruise Ship Port. As we cruise, Miami-style, your guide will fill you in on the area’s most popular celebrity residents such as Gloria Estefan and Shaquille O’Neal and how the man-made Star island has transformed into one of the hottest addresses in the city.
Back on land, we’ll make our way to the hot-hot-hot South Beach neighborhood. Home to some of the most colorful art and architecture in the country. And you can’t visit South Beach without hitting South Beach itself! We’ll take a stroll along the sandy shore, explore South Pointe Park Pier and hear stories about glamorous South Beach culture over the decades.
Time for a refreshment at your guide's favorite local bar, cafe, or ice cream shop. Nothing says ‘Miami’ quite like a cold drink or sweet treat in your hand on a sunny afternoon.
There will then be a 45 minute break before the start of the second half of your tour, time for you to soak up some of the South Beach neighborhood. You’ll have some time to spend chatting with your guide, have a rest, or find a spot for a quick a snack or drink.
You’ll start the second half of your Miami tour at a South Beach classic location on Ocean Drive, in the heart of the action. After meeting your guide, you’ll make your way down this photogenic street and hear stories about the history of Miami Beach.
Your tour will take a turn inland next as your guide introduces you to the local side of this touristy neighborhood. Hear the immigration story of South Beach, both past and present, along with some legendary boxing history where you’d least expect it.
We hope you’ve arrived a little hungry because you’re about to try some of the many highlights of South Beach Latin food. From a spicy Haitian dish and some Cuban street food classics, to some coffee at an old-school neighborhood favorite and/or a beloved South American snack, you’ll discover a local side to South Beach you never knew existed.
Collins Street is next on our agenda, one of Miami’s most historically preserved sections. It’s here that you’ll discover the classic Art Deco architecture, see the art scene at its finest, and get a feel for the character that uniquely defines Miami Beach.
Time for another refreshing break, this time you’re going to enjoy a tropical cocktail… next to a pool… on the roof…. overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and with views of the Miami skyline. Does life get much better than this? We don’t think so! Book the tour at the right time of year and you’ll be able to catch the sunset from this hidden perch that few tourists discover on their own.
Then it’s back down to Earth as you follow your guide to discover a famous mansion (with an infamous history), along with a couple more photo ops along the way.
Beach time! Kick off your shoes and join the locals on the sand during the best time of day to be there (weather permitting, of course). Feel the sand between your toes as you hear about the beach culture and its local quirks. Take in the evening breeze, and have some fun with a beach activity. Maybe a salsa lesson? A volleyball match? A game of Truth or Dare? (Maybe not!) Your guide will choose his/her favorite, and the fun is guaranteed.
Your tour ends with a beer included at one of the most iconic bars in Miami. Launch your night out in SoBe with some great tunes, a great atmosphere and maybe even a few dance moves. If you need any help getting back to your accommodation, your guide will be more than happy to assist you.
* Note: The order of activities on the itinerary will vary depending on the time of year and some will be weather-dependent. In the event of inclement weather, don’t worry, we’ll plan some fun alternatives.
