This tour isn’t just for early birds who consider morning the most beautiful part of the day, but also for those who want to enjoy some of the most visited sites in the historical center of Prague – before the crowds arrive.
After meeting your guide and enjoying a little snack, you will get a brief introduction to Prague’s history. You will learn about Lesser Town, the most romantic quarter in Prague and then take a short stroll towards Charles Bridge where you’ll hear stories about its demanding construction in the 14th century. This site is not only a bridge but also an open-air art gallery of mostly baroque statues. During your relaxed walk towards the other side of the Vltava River your guide will point out the most interesting ones.
Leaving Charles Bridge at the Old Town side of the river, you will have the opportunity to take some amazing photos of the bridge with Prague Castle in the background. It’s a sight that makes all Czech people proud and one that you’ll find in every guidebook and on every postcard. We will then continue through Karlova Street among historical houses, a street most locals avoid from around 10 a.m. onwards due to how busy it gets. But we will enjoy it in its original peace and tranquility - you can thank us later. Next, we’ll visit Bethlehem Square, where you’ll learn about its important role in the Hussite movement in the 15th century.
The empty, winding streets will lead us to the famous Old Town Square with numerous medieval buildings, including the world-renowned Astronomical Clock - what a sight when there are only a few fellow early-risers and no one else around. During the tour you will have plenty of time to ask your guide about anything that you might want to know about Prague. And before you go, don’t forget to get some local recommendations for what else to see and do in the city.
