Culture shock rating
Worried we’re going to shock your senses? Relax! We believe part of the fun of travel is immersing yourself in the destination and its culture, meeting the people, and learning what makes the place tick. We’ve got a wide range of tours with something for everybody. The cultural shock rating ranks how different the experience is from most Western cultures. But no matter the level, don’t worry, you’ll have a local, in-the-know guide with you every step of the way.
Low
Consider these tours your 101 intro to a place. Transportation might be private or a very comfortable public option, and the activities are usually visits to iconic sites and locations that are familiar to most Western cultures – but that will still give you fantastic insight into a destination.
Medium
Expect to rough it for parts of this tour, whether that’s on a packed public bus or in a local market off the tourist trail. There might be a few language barriers or unfamiliar cultural customs, and you’ll get an experience different from what you're used to at home.
High
You're out there in the global community! We’re going to take you down streets you’d rarely explore on your own, introduce you to local customs and languages, and take you for a ride in whatever transport is available. Get ready to take it as it comes, whatever comes. There might be a shock, but oh man, it’s worth it.

Physical rating
Worried our tours are too tough? Relax! From leisurely strolls to muscle-burning treks, we’ve got a wide range of tours with something for everybody. The physical grading gives you an idea of how much huffing and puffing you can expect on the tour.
Low
Slow and steady is all you need here. These tours have very limited physical activity, such as walking relatively flat streets, sites, or markets, and climbing in and out of the transport provided.
Medium
Not too hard, not too soft, these tours are just right! You can expect a bit of physical activity, but nothing overly challenging – perhaps walking up and down hills, riding a bike for up to 30 kilometers along mostly flat terrain, or jumping in a kayak for a gentle paddle on flat water.
High
Get ready for a workout! These tours are our most challenging and involve intense walking, hiking, kayaking, swimming, or bike riding. You could be making steep climbs by foot or pedal, or working your core in the water. We recommend you have a good level of fitness to join this tour.

Tour snapshot
Beer. Cerveza. Bier. Brewski. Biru. Pivo. It doesn't matter which language you say it in, beer could just be the official drink of choice for travellers. On this private Prague tour you will sip local ales and discover why Prague is arguably the best city in the world for drinking beer. -
Highlights
- Indulge in what Prague is famous for – beer!
- Visit four of Prague’s true local favourite beer halls and a microbrewery
- Savour typical Czech 'beer tapas' in different pubs along the way
- Learn about the Czech/Bohemian lifestyle, stories, and beer culture from the Middle Ages through Communism, all the way to the present
- Experience the less-touristy districts of Zizkov and Vinohrady, densely populated with beer halls and hidden gems
- Enjoy the local Prague tradition of socialising in beer halls
Local Impact: How you taking this tour will benefit the local community:
- All the bars, restaurants and beer halls we visit are 100% owned and run by local Czechs
- As we're in a small group of no more than 10, we don't disrupt local life.
- By taking our travellers to off the beaten path locations, we help to minimise overcrowding in the overly touristy hot spots.

Looking for the best beer and culinary tour in Prague? You just found it! Join our local guide for an adventure that stops at the most reputable (though not always the most beautiful) beer sanctuaries in the city. Hop on the Metro as the locals do and navigate your way to four of our favourite beer halls to try their best brews accompanied by typical Czech 'beer tapas' (it’s a thing, we promise!). As we appreciate the delicious Czech nectar, you’ll hear stories about exciting moments in the country’s history from the Middle Ages through Communism to the present.
Your Prague beer tour begins at the statue of the Czech patron saint, Saint Wenceslas, on top of Wenceslas Square (Václavské náměstí). After a quick introduction to the tour and the city we’ll make our way to our first stop, at a local beer hall in a former industrial suburb that has become the epicentre of Prague's rough-and-tumble nightlife in recent years. Choose from lots of different kinds of beer and pair it with a hearty pork chilli (veggie options are available), served with horseradish and mustard.
Next up, we'll hop on the tram in search of a truly hidden gem, a beer cellar and garden with a jolly and cosy atmosphere that proudly sells a great variety of Czech microbrewery beers! Don't worry, we'll help you choose from their vast selection. We'll also savour some pickled sausage, one of the most famous Czech beer snacks, served with onion and pepper. In our opinion, this place is the best in all of Prague, and trust us...we've done our homework.
Time to switch gears, but who knows where we'll end up next! As local experts, we've always got our eyes peeled for what's going on in the city, so the next stop will vary based on the season and what's happening - who has the most interesting beer on today, which pub has a band playing, etc. It's up to you and your guide where you head to for this part of the adventure!
Next, we will take the metro or tram to a legendary stop at a pub where you’ll get to sample more amazing beers and learn about the birth of Pilsner, one of the world’s most famous beers. Hopefully it will be assist you to wash down a deliciously Bohemian beer specialty too- deeeelish!
Our tour will finish back where we started, in Wenceslas Square, where we'll say our goodbyes but before you go, don’t forget to ask your local guide for more tips on what else to see, do and eating during your stay in the city. And because we are super nice and we want you to LOVE he beer culture in Prague as much as we do, we’ll also leave you with a map of Prague’s best beer halls, just in case you’ve not had enough yet!
(If you’d prefer to travel as part of a regular group experience, please book our Beer and Czech tapas group tour.)
