Prague, Czech Republic
Culture shock rating
Worried we’re going to shock your senses? Relax! We believe part of the fun of travel is immersing yourself in the destination and its culture, meeting the people, and learning what makes the place tick. We’ve got a wide range of tours with something for everybody. The cultural shock rating ranks how different the experience is from most Western cultures. But no matter the level, don’t worry, you’ll have a local, in-the-know guide with you every step of the way.
Low
Consider these tours your 101 intro to a place. Transportation might be private or a very comfortable public option, and the activities are usually visits to iconic sites and locations that are familiar to most Western cultures – but that will still give you fantastic insight into a destination.
Medium
Expect to rough it for parts of this tour, whether that’s on a packed public bus or in a local market off the tourist trail. There might be a few language barriers or unfamiliar cultural customs, and you’ll get an experience different from what you're used to at home.
High
You're out there in the global community! We’re going to take you down streets you’d rarely explore on your own, introduce you to local customs and languages, and take you for a ride in whatever transport is available. Get ready to take it as it comes, whatever comes. There might be a shock, but oh man, it’s worth it.
Physical rating
Worried our tours are too tough? Relax! From leisurely strolls to muscle-burning treks, we’ve got a wide range of tours with something for everybody. The physical grading gives you an idea of how much huffing and puffing you can expect on the tour.
Low
Slow and steady is all you need here. These tours have very limited physical activity, such as walking relatively flat streets, sites, or markets, and climbing in and out of the transport provided.
Medium
Not too hard, not too soft, these tours are just right! You can expect a bit of physical activity, but nothing overly challenging – perhaps walking up and down hills, riding a bike for up to 30 kilometers along mostly flat terrain, or jumping in a kayak for a gentle paddle on flat water.
High
Get ready for a workout! These tours are our most challenging and involve intense walking, hiking, kayaking, swimming, or bike riding. You could be making steep climbs by foot or pedal, or working your core in the water. We recommend you have a good level of fitness to join this tour.

Whether you have noticed it or not, Prague is full of greenery, with over 700 parks and more being added each year. While innumerable poems have been written about the cobbled streets, Prague’s winding green paths have just as much or more romance and poetry to offer. On this fabulous private tour we’ll guide you through a relaxing day meandering through parks and gardens with views grand enough to take your breath away.
Our first stop will be at the Memorial to the Victims of Communism, revealing some of the gloomy parts of our history before we brighten the mood, climbing the hill via the funicular to the top, reaching some spectacular views. A short jaunt through the rose garden and we’ll reach the Eiffel Tower...of sorts. Prague has its own version of this monument, just a little different, and we’ll take this opportunity to take the lift to the top (those feeling sporty enough can climb the 299 stairs). This is neither the first nor the last time you’ll pull out your camera.
From here, we’ll have a short walk through the seminary gardens to the monastery, showcasing splendid views of the Prague Castle and historical centre on the way. We’ll have a stop at the monastery for a traditional lunch, and what monastery would be complete without a monastic brewery? Monks were known in medieval times for their high-quality beers and this one has kept the quality up. Plus, the monastery grounds are as beautiful as its history. (Please note that as this lunch is organised in advance, we must know at your time of booking whether you have any dietary restrictions.)
We’ll switch gears as we waltz through our city’s youngest (though still very old) historical town, among hidden streets and down the stairs, quickly becoming swallowed by the greenery of Prague’s Stag Moat. From the deep and cool valley we sneak up into the historical Royal Gardens. These unique renaissance gardens are hiding many treasures, including the remarkable sgraffito Ballroom and the Royal Summer Palace, which lies at the foot of yet another park — in fact, it was Prague’s first public park.
A quick stop in a characterful café will give our feet another break, our brains a necessary coffee, and our tongues something sweet — all together for just the right amount of energy to explore a part of the spectacular Letna Gardens. We’ll be leaving you at one of Prague’s finest Art Nouveau buildings, which happens to boast yet another breathtaking panorama of our humble city. From here it’s a quick walk back to the city centre, or you may continue exploring the vast gardens (including the beer kind!) that sprawl out around you, offering one unforgettable view after another.
This private tour is a great opportunity to see more of this wonderful city and explore some of the hidden gems while learning about the cultural identity through history and modernity. And of course, you’ll be experiencing it in the best possible way: relaxing walks through nature with food, drink, and a new local friend.
(If you’d prefer to travel as part of a regular group experience, please book our Prague Parks and Views group tour.)
