Your pastry-tasting adventure begins next to St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Vienna’s most important religious building. Once introductions are complete, we’ll hop on the metro just like the locals do and make our way to our first stop in Vienna’s 10th district.
You might have heard about the Sacher torte or maybe the typical apple strudel - both are beautiful desserts the city has to offer. But at our first stop we will show you what the locals eat when they’re craving something sweet. It could be cardinal cake, or maybe a poppyseed strudel. The possibilities are endless, but you will be treated to a variety of typical Viennese pastries. As we will try seasonal items, there is always a surprise for our guests!
From there, we will move on to the 4th district, also via subway. Throughout the tour, we will explain the public transportation system so that after the tour you will be able to fully use it on your own. While in this area, we will visit a typical, but not well-known coffee house. They are known for authentic Austrian cakes and strudels that are simply delicious (trust us).
Once we finish there, we will walk towards the “Naschmarkt” to sample some handmade and fair-trade Austrian chocolate creations. Known by locals, chefs and many others, we will try some of the best creations they have available.
Lastly, if you still find some room for more sweets, we will end our tour by heading towards the city center and finish off with some traditional petit four! Before you go, don’t forget to ask your guide what else to see, do (and snack on) in Vienna.
