Urban Adventures

For International Women’s Day on March 8th, we’re talking travel to some of our female guides around the world. Give it up for Sandra in Houston!

What is your best travel memory?

Seeing a tiny Roman bridge under a Welsh bridge. It put history into perspective!

Why did you start working in travel?

In short, it’s the best way not to work…!

What is your favourite part about working with Urban Adventures?

Meeting amazing people – staff, partners, and tourists – from all over the world and learning all their different perspectives on life.

If you could live and work in any other UA city, where would it be and why?

If we had tours there (cheating a little here…) – Chicago! I love the art, architecture, food, people, and everything else about Chicago!

If you had to give a visitor one tip about your city, what would it be?

Houston is not what you expect so come prepared to be surprised by the weather, size, diversity, and whatever’s happening that day.

Where in the world (other than your own city!) would you go to:

Get cultured? Venice.

Escape? A paddle-wheel boat ride on the Mississippi.

Eat amazing food? New York City.

See some wildlife? Nairobi.

Get some sun? San Diego.

Enjoy the great outdoors? The Blue Ridge Mountain Trail in the USA.

Come and discover the diversity of Houston with Sandra on one of our Houston tours! The historic pub tour is especially excellent…
