Mariana was a very knowledgeable and personable local quide who took the small group to some interesting places and provided lots of historical facts along the way. She also provided tips on further areas to explore. Highly recommend the tour - money well spent.
I really enjoyed this tour. There were three of us in total in the group- I was a solo traveller and there was another group of two. The food was amazing and our guide, Filipa, was able to tell us about each of the places we visited and the food we were eating. She also deviated slightly from the route to point out additional sights we may be interested in. After the tour Filipa sent a follow up email with suggestions for dining and sightseeing.
Our guide, Andreia, is doing her Masters degree in history and archeology. It was from this knowledge base that when we asked questions of not just Porto but the country as well, that both her enthusiasm for sharing her knowledge and obvious pride in being Portuguese , filled our group with history and culture. From our prior experience in Madrid where our time took us all over the city, we found this walking experience to be very short on that part, but again , learning much while sitting and eating.
We had a great time on our Porto's Bites and Sights Tour. Our group was 9 people plus our guide. The tour started on time at the meeting place, where we had time to interact with others on the tour, which made the next 2 hours more fun. We enjoyed learning about some of the specialties of Porto and the Region and were stuffed by the end of our tour. The pace of the tour was good, not too fast, but also not boring. We enjoyed some of the small deli's/restaurants that one normally would not find as a tourist. Our guide was friendly and outgoing. Personally I would have enjoyed seeing a few extra sights during the tour, but understand that it may have been difficult to manage the time. We will definitely look for Urban Adventures again during our next travels. Thank you.
