Basque rowing is a traditional sport with boats with 13 rowers and one cox carried out on the sea. The main regatta of the year is in September when just by chance I was in San Sebastian. Tomasz arranged an amazing private tour for me on board the team supporters' boat of the team of San Juan. This was just a small boat with the team officials, families and sponsors so it was really a privilege to be there. We were able to watch the races from really close by from the boat roof while enjoying drinks and snacks so it was a really great day out. As an added bonus their women's team won the race so the official team boat got a front row seat at the prize giving. I am very happy to have been given the opportunity to witness this. Obviously this was a unique set of circumstances which would be hard to replicate but both Tomasz and the team were really welcoming and I am sure any tour they arrange on the theme of Basque rowing would be highly enjoyable and interesting.

This tour is taken on e-bikes which are a lot of fun and can be as much or as little effort as you want. They are a great way to see the city as you can cover much more distance than by walking. My guide was Sheranie and by chance I was the only one on the tour. However she did not try to hurry up the tour and even took me on an extra part on a road by the coast when we were ahead of time. She also took photos for me and we went to try some pintxos so overall it was a really enjoyable afternoon and I would definitely recommend this tour.
