It was a long but great day. We had not expected the cooking class to be more of a private chef lunch but it worked very well for me and the child that I was traveling with. He loved helping make dumplings. It was good to see how a local family lives and to talk about their lives. It was also very useful having a guide at the warriors site because there are lots of people around and it is easy to get edged out of places. Overall it was a full but very good day.
I had the opportunity to take a day off from a business trip in Beijing, so I took the night train to Xi’an. Thanks to Urban Adventures and my guide Rosemary I had a really great time visiting the stunning Terracotta Army. Many thanks!
It was a wonderful morning. The guide and her guide-in-training were both friendly and well-informed about Xi'an. We tried LOTS of great food during our walk. I would highly recommend this tour in order to try some great local food!
Loved seeing a different side to China - the Muslim quarter was a great experience, lots of local food, chance to try new things and ask our guide what everything was! Would have liked more street food to be included on the way as opposed to a bigger restaurant meal at the end, but it was all delicious anyway!
Julia and us hit it off excellently - visiting the residents of the cave dwellings was very interesting - and having a chat...well that was difficult but I think we enjoyed each others company really well. Cindy our guide at the entombed warriors was also superb!
