Real people. Real stories. Real change.
... Women in Kathmandu struggling to support themselves because of disability
... Coral reef conservationists saving beaches in the Maldives
... Syrian refugees in Istanbul trying to find their feet in a new home
These are the faces of In Focus.
Our In Focus tours are run in partnership with local NGOs, non-profits, and social enterprises tackling real local issues – and are your access to hearing real stories from real people, who are working to make the world a better place one project at a time. Learn about local problems and solutions first-hand from those living it. Ask questions as you see, smell, hear, touch, and even taste the tale. Become a part of the story.

Think of the most inspiring story you’ve ever heard. Maybe it was a great TEDx talk, maybe it was an emotional blog post, maybe it was something that a friend of a friend shared with you, but that you never, ever forgot.
Now imagine witnessing that story in real life. Hearing about it first-hand from those living it. Having the chance to ask questions and to see, smell, hear, and even taste the tale. To not just listen to it, but to become a part of it.
This is what In Focus is all about.
Our Urban Adventures In Focus tours are run in conjunction with local NGOs, non-profits, and accelerators around the globe. We’ve worked with these groups on the ground to develop experiences that show travellers what their projects are about and how they’re giving back to the community. We’re focusing in on a destination and its issues, and on what’s being done to make things better. And throughout all the In Focus tours, we’ve of course sprinkled our usual dose of fun, humour, and playfulness, because we believe that’s the best way to connect.
These tours aren’t voluntourism. They’re not charity. They’re about understanding local issues and supporting start-up projects in a sustainable way, so that these groups can continue to thrive under their own economic and cultural realities rather than relying on tourist dollars. We don’t want to throw money at a cause and walk away. We want to help local businesses get off the ground, to see independent entrepreneurs succeed, and to make tourism a beacon for good — and we’re pretty sure you, our travellers, want that too.
Check out our growing line-up of In Focus tours below, from sharing snacks with locals in support of single mother entrepreneurs, to seeing city sites with a guide who’s escaping life on the streets.
